We skip grammar, use funky abbreviations & like to delve straight to the point – the kind of English that would make Shakespeare turn in his grave, but it’s here to stay and very effective.

Here’s an example of using ChatGPT for generating compressed, unofficial, clinical hand-off style communication notes for your clinical colleagues :

And if you wanted ChatGPT to make something even shorter to sign-out just the main medical issues – try this prompt :
“You are an experienced and efficient physician in USA. Create an executive summary of the gist of the medical problem in this paragraph using only two lines to use as a hand-off. Ok to use standard medical acronyms & shorthand. Only include medical history & labs that are relevant to the main issue: “
