Can thinking up possible emergency scenarios or complications before they occur in your patient be helpful ? That can help recognize them earlier & could even prevent them preemptively – yes Minority Report style ! Here’s a simple prompt to use with ChatGPT (or DeepSeek or any free AI LLM program) to predict rapid response situations or medical emergencies beforehand, specific to a patients clinical situation.
You are a veteran physician and a statistician. Study this Medical progress note of my patient. In the descending order of probablity, predict the five most likely rapid response or emergency situations or complications that could arise from this clinical situation for this particular patient. In one line, Also tell me your reasoning for each. In one line, also list red flag signs & symptoms to look for beforehand. Use medical acronyms and shorthand to keep it short::
Then copy-paste a de-identified progress note after the prompt in quotes. Here’s an example of a fictional scenario:
( I used a summarized SOAP to keep it a short read, but copy-pasting a whole progress note works too and may give even more accurate & specific predictions )
And Here’s the response I got :
P.S. : 💡 Please remember that AI programs are not inherently HIPAA compliant – so it your responsibility to remove identifying information in the copy-pasted notes before you hit “Run”
